This is a genuine WWII manufactured swivel bale front seam McCord helmet with a WW2 Westinghouse liner

sometimes called an "Australian bush hat" or "digger hat"

It has been in the same family for untold eons right here in New Jersey and only came to light in the last couple of years when the family's patriarch died

but have not been able to identify what this unit marking means

This excellent example is in 9mm Bergmann-Bayard and includes a special safety in front of the trigger guard
