Early war examples were silver frosted nickel alloy, however as the war continued they moved to the "air age" aluminum material. This great example was made by Paul Weyersberg of Solingen, the legendary "City of Blades" in western Germany. The reverse ricasso is marked PAUL WEYERSBERG
