This is a very good service used all original example of a German WWII M40 "Single Decal" helmet, issued to the Heer (Army). This stamped sheet steel construction helmet looks to have seen long service during the war, which resulted in oxidation and paint loss. It was then cleaned , which removed the rust but also a more of the paint, and now probably retains less than 50% of the original panzergrau (armored gray)
